This Privacy Policy explains how Vistero ("we", "us", "the app") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Vistero Radio application ("Vistero"). By using Vistero, you agree to the practices described here.
Summary: Vistero is an internet radio app. We do not run a backend server or user accounts. We use Google AdMob to show visual ads only — Vistero never inserts audio ads. (Some radio stations play their own audio ads, including ads before the stream starts ("pre-rolls"), which is outside our control.) We use RevenueCat to manage optional subscriptions and the Radio Browser directory to provide station data. We also use Aptabase to collect a small amount of anonymous usage data, and Sentry to capture app errors, so we can improve the app and fix problems — neither uses a cross-app advertising identifier, and both can be turned off in Settings. On iOS, our advertising partner can only access your device's advertising identifier if you allow it when Apple's tracking prompt appears. We never sell your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
Language and station preferences — your selected languages, favorite stations, and recently played stations are stored locally on your device.
Support and station requests — if you contact us or submit a station request, we receive the email address and message content you send.
Information collected automatically
Advertising identifiers — our advertising partner (Google AdMob) may access your device's advertising identifier and related signals to serve and measure ads. On iOS this access requires your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; on Android it is governed by your device's advertising ID settings. Where consent is required by law, we also present a separate consent message before personalized ads are served. See section 3.
Device and usage data — our advertising and analytics partners may collect device type, OS version, app interactions, and approximate (non-precise) location for ad delivery and measurement. Approximate location is estimated by these partners from your IP address. Vistero never requests location permission and has no access to GPS or precise location.
Anonymous analytics and error data — we use Aptabase to record a limited set of anonymous events (such as app opened, onboarding completed, a station played, a search performed, and paywall or subscription events), and Sentry to record app error reports (error details and the app context leading to a problem) so we can fix bugs. Both services are hosted in the European Union. This data is tied to no persistent identifier and is not tied to your name, email, or an advertising identifier. We do not log the text of your searches. This analytics and error data is not used to track you across other apps or services; the separate question of how your advertising identifier is used by our advertising partner is described in section 3. For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland this collection does not begin until you consent, and it can be turned off at any time in Settings.
Subscription status — if you purchase a subscription, RevenueCat processes a purchase token to manage your entitlement. We do not receive or store your payment card details; those are handled by the Google Play / Apple app stores.
2. How We Use Information
To provide radio streaming, discovery, and playback features.
To remember your language choices, favorites, and recent stations on your device.
To display advertising. Vistero shows visual ads only and never inserts audio ads; all Vistero ads are suppressed during car sessions. Some radio stations play their own audio advertising within their streams — including ads before the stream begins ("pre-rolls") and ads during broadcast — which Vistero does not control.
To manage and validate optional ad-free subscriptions.
To respond to your support messages and station requests.
To understand, on an anonymous and aggregated basis, how the app is used — which features work, where users encounter difficulty, and whether the app is stable — so that we can improve it.
To maintain app security and diagnose technical problems.
3. Advertising, Tracking, and Consent
Vistero uses Google AdMob to display visual advertisements to users on the free tier. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we present a consent message (using Google's User Messaging Platform) before personalized ads are served, in line with the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive.
App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
On iOS, Vistero asks for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before our advertising partner can access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). Because that identifier can be used by Google AdMob to link ad activity across different companies' apps and websites for advertising and measurement purposes, this counts as "tracking" under Apple's definition, and we declare it as such on our App Store product page.
If you decline the prompt, or turn tracking off later in your iOS Settings, the advertising identifier is not made available and ads are served on a contextual basis only — for example, based on the fact that this is a music and audio app, your approximate region, and the time of day. Vistero itself does not build a profile of you and does not combine your listening activity with data from other companies.
Your listening history, favorites, search history, and time-of-day usage patterns remain on your device and are never transmitted to us or to any advertising partner.
Withdrawing consent
You can change or withdraw your advertising consent at any time from within the app's Settings. Subscribers to the ad-free tier are not shown advertisements.
For our anonymous analytics (Aptabase) and error reporting (Sentry), users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are asked for consent before any data is collected, and this collection remains disabled unless consent is given. Everyone, in any region, can enable or disable this collection at any time using the “Manage analytics consent” control in the app's Settings.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
5. Data Retention
Preferences (languages, favorites, recents) are stored only on your device and are removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data. Support correspondence is retained only as long as needed to address your request.
Anonymous analytics events are recorded under an identifier that Aptabase rotates daily, so no continuing profile of your usage is built or kept; the events themselves are held by Aptabase under its own data-retention policy. Error reports in Sentry are retained for 90 days and are then deleted.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
Please include your Privacy ID. Because we do not collect your name, email address, or any account information, we have no way of locating your data unless you tell us your anonymous identifier. You can find it in the app at Settings → About → Privacy ID, with a one-tap copy button. We aim to acknowledge requests within 72 hours and to respond substantively within 30 days.
EEA / UK (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
India (DPDP Act)
If you are in India, you may contact our Grievance Officer regarding the handling of your personal data:
Vistero is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Vistero after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
